Adoption Journey
If you’re interested in adopting from Mansfield Guinea Pig Rescue, we ask that you complete our application form so we can learn a little more about you, your experience with guinea pigs, and the home you can offer.
Our priority is making sure each piggy is matched with the right home where they will be loved, cared for, and able to thrive.
Before Applying
Before submitting an application, please make sure:
1. Your enclosure and full setup are already prepared and ready for your guinea pigs.
2. You have carefully read through and can meet all of our rehoming guidelines.
3. Everyone in the household is happy and prepared for the commitment of caring for guinea pigs.
We take time to review every application carefully to ensure the very best outcome for both our piggies and adopters.
Step 1 – Initial Enquiry: Start by contacting us or completing our adoption enquiry form. This helps us understand the type of home and companionship you can offer.
Step 2 – Suitability Review: We will review your enclosure setup, experience, existing pets, and general care plans to ensure the match is appropriate for the guinea pigs in our care.
Step 3 – Discussion & Guidance: If your application is suitable, we may contact you to discuss bonding, housing, diet, companionship, and any ongoing care needs.
Step 4 – Meeting the Guinea Pigs: Where appropriate, arrangements can then be made for introductions or bonding sessions.
Step 5 – Adoption & Ongoing Support: Once adoption is completed, we remain available for advice and support whenever needed.
